I have lived with alopecia since the age of 5 and began campaigning to raise awareness of hair loss in 1996.
I have a complete understanding of those who find themselves faced with hair loss. I use all of my knowledge and personal experience in working alongside the NHS, hosting specialist clinics for hair loss sufferers and also by designing a range of wigs.
I have been featured in many magazines and newspapers and have also appeared on several television shows talking about alopecia and hair loss, often ‘going topless!’.
As well as having Gail Porter as a close friend, since her diagnosis with alopecia, I also work alongside Trevor Sorbie MBE with the My New Hair Charity, Alopecia Charities including Alopecia Awareness, Bebold and the AASC and many Cancer Charities as well as a being the lead singer with a local band and studying for my Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills. I am also a member of the newly formed Dermatology Council for England and am a representative for the Patient Support Groups for people with alopecia, hosted by the British Association of Dermatologists. |
