Welcome to my world!
A place for anyone who lives with or has experienced hair loss, as a result of alopecia or medical treatments.
Losing your hair isn't classed as life threatening, but it can be life devastating. Please remember, whether it is happening to you or to someone you love, you are not alone. After finally coming to terms with the unpredictability of alopecia, and accepting myself, I realised that there were many others out there who were struggling the way I had for many years.

So, since 1991 I have been helping, supporting and advising anyone who loses their hair, be it as a result of cancer treatments or one of the many different types of alopecia. |

11th May 2011
It was a lovely surprise this week to receive a letter informing me I have been nominated for the Long Term Commitment to Volunteering for the Inspiring Volunteering Awards 2011 in Plymouth.
The Awards are run by The Herald, University of Plymouth and Plymouth Guild and the ceremony is being held on Wednesday 15th June in Plymouth.
This is wonderful news and again will help to continue to get the message out to all the people who are living with hair loss, who need support, advice and help.
I would like to thank the person/persons who nominated me and I will take full advantage of this opportunity to raise awareness for alopecia and celebrate the evening with my Mum, Margaret, who has always been my inspiration. |

I am on my travels during the Summer of 2011.
Following the Bebold Childrens Summer Camp in Scarborough at the end of July, I will be flying to the USA for an Alopecia Tour!
I will first be visiting Cincinnatti, Ohio to help at the Children's Alopecia Project Summer Camp! As well as being there to help, support and advice the children and parents, I will be hosting 'Alopecia's Got Talent'!! I can't wait to meet everyone!
From Cincinnati, I will be travelling to Chicago, the Windy City to stay with a lovely alopecia lady and her family and meet up with the Chicago Alopecia Group! As well as take in the sites of a truly amazing City, make new friends and build our international Alopecia relationships!
Finally, I will be on the road again, to Indianapolis, where I hope to meet up with some more alopecia 'friends to be', as well as having tickets to watch the MotoGP at the 'Brickyard' Indianapolis Motor Speedway Race Circuit!
How exciting is this!
